The negative aspects are apparent in abundance. Some of the most obvious negative aspects are when minorities aren’t afforded the same opportunities that white Americans are given, due to racial stereotypes like â€Å"black people are lazy†. Stereotypes can also affect children. There is a common myth that some ignorant people believe in which gay parents will raise a gay child. Children can be very cruel at a young age and have stereotypes such as this passed down from their parents, which they then perpetuate against children of gay parents. What can be done to prevent prejudice from occurring? The main thing that can be done to prevent prejudice would be for people to cast aside the stereotypes that they have been raised on.
